How can you help?

If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer your time to a great cause, please choose one of the following:

  1. I want to HELP others
  2. I LOVE horses
  3. I want to GIVE something back to my community

Did you know that working with horses can enhance:

Leadership skills    Self esteem            Trust                      Teamwork                   Communication              Decision-making

Wind Walkers is in need of volunteers and the items listed above are just a few of the many benefits that both students and volunteers can gain from being involved with an equine assisted learning and therapy center.

Wind Walkers provides comprehensive prevention and intervention treatment through therapeutic riding and groundwork activities. We service children, youth, adults and families who are facing physical, emotional, behavioral and social development challenges. We have a complete volunteer training course that is fun and interesting and teaches volunteers how to be safe, confident and effective in all of our programs.

Our volunteers help us to help others in many ways including, but not limited to:

  1. Walking beside and/or leading the horse to keep the student safe and help facilitate the therapeutic riding session.
  2.  Grooming horses and teaching students how to groom horses.
  3. Helping students prepare for therapeutic riding sessions.
  4. Barn Buddies.
  5. Office Work.
  6. Events Planning.

These are just a few of the much needed, and very rewarding tasks of a volunteer at Wind Walkers.
